This basket is woven around a galvanized bucket using premium cherry hardwood and cane. The rim, base, staves and handle are Cherry hardwood. The rim is secured using solid brass nails then lashed with cane. Traditional lightship weaving methods are used to ensure stability maintain the original tradition of Nantucket baskets.
